Project Overview

The BharatNet Phase 2 project for Gujarat aimed to develop a state-of-the-art network infrastructure to provide high-speed internet connectivity across 7,500 villages. The network architecture included over 35,000 km of Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) with connectivity speeds of 1 Gbps, leveraging GPON technology and transport solutions like DWDM and IP. Technext Solutions played a key role in designing and implementing a scalable and reliable solution while integrating the network with the BBNL NOC. The project also involved meticulous planning and drafting of RFP terms, ensuring compliance with industry standards and operational efficiency.

Objective

Build a robust network architecture to provide high-speed internet connectivity to remote villages in Gujarat.

Integrate the network with the BBNL NOC for centralized monitoring and management.

Define RFP components, including SLAs, payment terms, qualification criteria, product compliance, and responsibility matrices.

Actions Taken

Network Architecture Design

Designed a comprehensive network infrastructure comprising over 35,000 km of OFC to connect 7,500 villages.

Incorporated GPON technology to deliver high-speed internet while ensuring cost efficiency.

Deployed advanced transport solutions, including DWDM and IP, to optimize data transmission across the network.

Integration with BBNL NOC

Seamlessly integrated the state network with the Bharat Broadband Network Limited (BBNL) NOC.

Established centralized monitoring and management systems to ensure efficient operations.

Deployment and Monitoring Framework

Deployed the network infrastructure across all target villages, ensuring timely and efficient implementation.

Developed a monitoring framework to track performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.

 RFP Design and Documentation

Defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure performance standards and accountability.

Outlined payment terms, qualification criteria, and a comprehensive responsibility matrix for vendors and stakeholders.

Ensured product compliance with industry standards to maintain quality and reliability.

Solution Testing and Validation

Conducted extensive testing to validate network performance, including speed, scalability, and reliability.

Assessed the integration with BBNL NOC to ensure seamless operation and monitoring capabilities.
